Sister Campion Walsh

Stella Mary Walsh was born in Invercargill, the fourth daughter of James Raymond Walsh and Stella Walsh. Her father was a Custom Officer who had worked in various places throughout New Zealand. Stella’s parents provided a Catholic education for the family of five children with three of their four daughter eventually entering religious congregations...
Sister Philomena Quillivan

Jane was born at Manganoho, Whanganui. Her Irish father, Patrick, and her Scottish mother, Catherine, migrated with their families to New Zealand in the mid-1880s. Jane was educated at the Manganoho School gaining her Certificate of Proficiency in 1908.
Sister Michael Soani

Sister Michael’s encounter with the Sisters of Compassion came in the form of a shabby little book. She was impressed with the sisters’ work with the elderly and that was the beginning of a long journey toward religious life. The Sisters of Compassion were not long in Fiji when she visited them.
