One of the most significant ways to demonstrate your compassion is to leave a bequest to the Sisters in your Will. Your generosity will help us to plan how we develop our work across communities long into the future.
Bequests are very special gifts and are used with extra care. The Sisters make a promise to you that they will use your bequest for the purpose you have specified. If you are passionate about a particular issue, our fundraising and communications manager before you complete your Will so that together we can look at how your gift can be used in the way you would be most proud of.

Things to remember
- Your solicitor or Trustee company can also create a Will for you or update your existing Will in order to include a gift to Sisters of Compassion with correct legal wording. All you need is our Charity name (The Mother Aubert Home of Compassion Trust Board), Charity number (CC10246), and address (2 Rhine Street, Island Bay, Wellington 6023).
- If you don’t have a solicitor or professional Trustee company, the New Zealand Law Society website can provide direction.
Bequest – suggested wording
Below is suggested wording your solicitor or professional Trustee company could use. This can be incorporated into your new will or simply added as a codicil to an existing one.
“I give, devise, and bequeath (free of all charges and duties) to The Mother Aubert Home of Compassion Trust Board, the sum of$….. or (nominated property) ….. or …..% proportion of my residuary estate, for the general purposes of the said Mother Aubert Home of Compassion Trust Board.
I further declare that the receipt of the Chief Executive or Treasurer of The Mother Aubert Home of Compassion Trust Board shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my trustees for the same and my trustees shall not be bound to see the application thereof. In all other respects, I confirm my said Will.”
