Sister Aloysius Kerrigan
Margaret Kerrigan was born at Ashhurst, near Palmerston North, on 5 September, 1885. She entered as a Postulant on 13 October, 1907 and went to Island Bay when the Noviciate was transferred there in March, 1908. She began her Novitiate on the 17 September, 1908, and received the name of Sister Mary Aloysius. She was professed on 28 September, 1910.

Before entering the Sisters of Compassion in 1967 Sister Rae completed her nursing training at the Sisters of Mercy Mater Hospital in Auckland.
