Mission Partnerships, Education & Engagement Lead
Full Time – New role

The Sisters of Compassion Group is seeking a Mission Partnerships, Education & Engagement Lead. This person will be an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team, with responsibility to provide strategic oversight of the “mission”; lead the formation of staff in the mission and ethos of the organisation; oversee education, hospitality, heritage and retreat functions; promote the guardianship (kaitiakitanga) of the Sisters of Compassion “story”; and nurture key missional relationships.

As the Mission Partnerships, Education and Engagement Lead, you will have responsibility for promoting the knowledge and example of the story and history of Meri Hōhepa Suzanne Aubert and the Sisters of Compassion and the organisation’s mission:

Mission Delivery Lead
Full Time – New role

The Sisters of Compassion Group (SOCG) is seeking a dedicated Mission Delivery Lead to oversee all of our front-line mission operations and services.

This is a new position, working alongside another new role; the Mission Partnerships, Education & Engagement Lead. It represents an exciting opportunity to support and lead our established front-line mission teams, and to plan and develop further missional and service opportunities.

About the Role

The Missions Delivery Lead will be an integral member of the Senior Leadership team. They will be based at Our Lady’s Home of Compassion in Island Bay with overall responsibility for our front-line mission teams and group operations. These include Our Lady’s Home of Compassion (our ‘Urban Monastery’ welcoming pilgrims, offering retreats, meeting facilities and accommodation, the Cloister Café, Suzanne Aubert Heritage Centre, Chapel and Resting Place);  the Compassion Soup Kitchen/Suzanne Aubert Compassion Centre on Tory Street, Wellington; Compassion Housing across multiple locations in Upper Hutt, Horowhenua and Whanganui; and the Old Convent and Hāto Hōhepa Church at Hiruhārama, Jerusalem on the Whanganui River. The Mission Delivery Lead is responsible for mission strategic delivery, planning and related projects and ensuring our services are effective, sustainable and aligned with our missional ethos and goals.

Café, Catering, and Shop Manager
Full Time – New role

This is a new position and an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of expanding OLHOC’s offerings as a sustainable social enterprise, aligning with our mission of compassion and prioritising community care and engagement.

About the Role

As the Café, Catering, and Shop Manager, you will have overall responsibility for overseeing and growing the day-to-day operations of the Cloister Café, including the Suzanne Aubert Heritage Centre Shop. You will lead in exploring and implementing catering services for visitors, pilgrims, guests, staff and Sisters, and supporting and collaborating with community groups.  You will play a key role in developing these services as part of OLHOC’s expanding social enterprise, exploring vocational training opportunities and focusing on sustainable services. You will foster a warm welcoming experience for all who come, and encourage connection with our mission and story. This includes facilitating the provision of pastoral care and conversation where needed, embodying compassion in daily interactions.
