Christina Agnes Dowdall was born in Whanganui on 9 November, 1908. Her parents were Christopher and Gladys Dowdall. Christina was lovingly referred to in the family as Jacky.
Sarah Maud Pritchard was born in Tibooburra, New South Wales. Early in life due to family circumstances Sarah was cared for at St Anne’s Home, in Broken Hill, which was under the management of the Sisters of Mercy.
I learnt heaps – not about gardening (although I increased my knowledge on this in a way too) but about the Sisters and about the Home of Compassion...
