Mary Josephine Casey was born in Wellington on 11 October 1873. Her parents were John James and Teresa Mary Casey (nee Pagon). Mary had wanted to join the Sisters of Compassion at Jerusalem-Hiruhārama for some time, but could not get away from home.
I feel that I was so fortunate to have been able to live and work at the Home of Compassion. I consider it one of the most blessed gifts in my life, and I look forward to returning...
Sister was a Sister of Compassion for 10 years. She worked manly at Island Bay, Carterton and Timaru. Thank you Sister for your commitment.
