Heritage NZ listed the Chapel and the Resting Place to be included as historical sites.

Heritage New Zealand is accepting submissions on this proposal until 24 February, seeking to capture the experiences and significance of this place for those who visit.
Mother Veronica Hartnett

Margaret Hartnett was the younger sister of Catherine, and was born at Kanieri on the West Coast. She went to the Hokitika Convent School where she would have listened with rapt attention to Mother Mary Joseph Aubert speaking of the Maori Mission at Hiruhārama on the Whanganui River.
Sister Brendan O’Gorman

Bridget Mary O’Gorman was born at Ballybawn, Rathnure, Ireland, on 14 May 1912. Her parents were Michael and Elizabeth O’Gorman. Family was very important to her and over recent years one of her sorrows was that all her siblings predeceased her...
