Sister Claver Hartnett

Catherine Hartnett was born at Kaniere, on the West Coast, on the 4 March, 1875. Her parents were Cornelius Hartnett and Catherine [nee Irwin]. Catherine was only fourteen when she journeyed up the Whanganui River to become a member of the Third Order of Mary, Father Soulas and Mother Joseph Aubert were establishing at Jerusalem...
Sister Clare Nesdale

Kathleen Ann Nesdale was born at Kimbolton, near Fielding, on 13 November, 1892. Her parents were Patrick Nesdale and Mary Ann Nesdale [nee Smyth]. Kathleen entered the Sisters of Compassion on 23 February, 1915, while Mother Aubert was still in Rome...
Sister Christopher Birchall

Theresa Eileen Birchall was born in Wanganui on 16 July, 1918. Her twin brother Robert lived only three weeks. Eileen as she was called, was the twelfth child in the family, and the last surviving aunt of her numerous nieces and nephews of whom she was very fond.
