Lesina came from Samoa. She was a happy person but discerned that Religious life was not for her.
Lorraine Mary Walsh was born in Gisborne, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Walsh. Lorraine was the eldest sibling.
Cecilia Margaret was born in Darfield, Canterbury. Her parents were Daniel and Johanna McLaughlin and she had three brothers and three sisters. Cecilia entered the Sisters of Compassion in 1936.
