Bridget Cecilia Flannery was the eldest daughter of John and Ellen Flannery, and was born at Timaru on 12 October, 1913. Two of her sisters also entered the Sisters of Compassion: Sister Mary Joan and Sister Mary Adrian.
Maria an Indian Fijian entered the Sisters of Compassion but Discerned the life was not for her.
Mary Small was born at Tuamarina, on 4 March, 1876. Her parents were Joseph and Debora (nee Hunter).
