Theresa Eileen Birchall was born in Wanganui on 16 July, 1918. Her twin brother Robert lived only three weeks. Eileen as she was called, was the twelfth child in the family, and the last surviving aunt of her numerous nieces and nephews of whom she was very fond.
Margaret Mary was born at Upper Hutt on August 8, 1889, but spent most of her childhood in Taranaki. Her parents were William Henry Martin and Mary Martin (nee Craig)...
