In August, we celebrated the 20th anniversary of The Forrest Centre’s ownership of Loreto Home of Compassion. Since 1952, the Sisters of Compassion have provided elder care in Wagga Wagga, Australia. The Forrest Centre continues this legacy, with Loreto expanding from 20 to 76 residents.

Sharing the words of Evan Robertson, CEO of the Forrest Centre:

“Sunday 30 June marked the twenty-year anniversary of Loreto Home of Compassion officially joining The Forrest Centre family. After managing the facility for a few years, ownership was officially transferred in June 2004.

Of course, The Forrest Centre and Loreto still have a very close relationship with the Sisters of Compassion.

These remarkable ladies have been providing care for our older community members for over 70 years, with the Loreto Home of Compassion nursing home still standing as a glowing tribute to their vision, kindness and skill.

Over the years we have cared for many of the Sisters at Loreto, and the remaining members of the Order still live on site and contribute to resident and staff welfare with a smile and a helping hand.

We thank the Sisters of Compassion for their service, gentle nature and their smiling faces.”
