Our Lady’s Home of Compassion
Our Lady’s Home of Compassion is part of our Home of Compassion complex, our congregation headquarters and services in Island Bay, Wellington.
Our Compassion Company Office, which looks after all services is also located in the premises.
At the heart of Our Lady’s Home of Compassion is our chapel, consecrated, dedicated and opened on 25 March 1990 and a celebration of the skills, dedication, devotion and cooperation of architect, artisan, industrial technician, manufacturer and the client.
We commissioned John Drawbridge to design the stained glass windows, challenging him to illustrate the story of the Stations of the Cross in a way that was not only beautiful, sensitive and inspiring, but was also “something more modern”. Come and visit if you can. We’re incredibly proud of it.
