Mary O’Sullivan was born at Tua Marina, Marlborough. Her parents were Charles and Mary O’Sullivan (nee O’Leary). They were a pioneering family and Mary and her brothers and sisters grew up on the family farm.
Maria an Indian Fijian entered the Sisters of Compassion but Discerned the life was not for her.
Pearl Roberts was born in Clinton, South Island. Her parents were Alexander Allan and Sarah Roberts (nee Lynch).
