Martha Wells was born in Wellington on 11 September, 1889. Her parents were Peter Francis and Susan Wells (nee Holdsworth).
"In 1968 when I was aged just 17 I felt confident that my vocation was a call to be a Sister of Compassion...
Sister was born in Tonga and had trained as a nurse in Tonga before entering the Sisters of Compassion. After discernment she decided to return home.
