Sheila Mary McSherry was the fifth child born to John and Jane McSherry. Within a family of six siblings, four girls and two boys the McSherry family lived in Greymouth. Her pride and joy was always the West Coast...
Jane was born at Manganoho, Whanganui. Her Irish father, Patrick, and her Scottish mother, Catherine, migrated with their families to New Zealand in the mid-1880s. Jane was educated at the Manganoho School gaining her Certificate of Proficiency in 1908.
Patricia Eileen, the eldest daughter of Arthur Henry and Margaret Elizabeth Greener (nee McDonald) was born in Christchurch. Several months later Patricia was baptised in Kilbirnie. She lived with her family in Westport until she entered the Sisters of Compassion.
