Clare Mary Brownlie was born on 19 October, 1892, at Brunswick, Whanganui, the daughter of James Brownlie and Nora (Nee Mullins). Her father’s two sisters were among Mother Aubert’s first companions.
Honoria, daughter of Cornelius and Ellen O’Mahony, was born at Drimoleague, County Cork, Ireland and immigrated to New Zealand at the age of 30. She was a qualified Maternity Nurse prior to her arrival having received her training at the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin.
Ngaio Helena, daughter of Sydney and Lucy Mountain, was born in the small farming settlement of Kaeo, Bay of Islands. She and her two sisters came from a generation of pioneering people well known in the Kaeo district...
