Sister Prisca McQuilkin
Annie McQuilkin was born at Hau Hau, Hokitika, on the 5 August, 1874. Annie was the second daughter of John McQuilkin and Mary [nee Sweeney]. Annie’s parents were well-known and highly respected pioneers of the West Coast whose strong faith and open-handed generosity built up the Church in the early days of New Zealand.

Sister Carmel Gallagher
Sarah Gallagher was born in Glenswilly, County of Donegal, Ireland on the 1 May, 1860. Her parents were Hugh Gallagher and Sarah Monner. She came out to New Zealand to be with her brother and family on the West Coast. After a while they went to live in Oamaru, but in the early 1880's they shifted to Wellington...

Sister Emilian O’Mahony
Honoria, daughter of Cornelius and Ellen O’Mahony, was born at Drimoleague, County Cork, Ireland and immigrated to New Zealand at the age of 30. She was a qualified Maternity Nurse prior to her arrival having received her training at the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin.
