In collaboration with the Wellington Wikipedia community we’re running a Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon. We’ll be expanding and adding Wikipedia pages about Aotearoa women in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and maths). Wikipedia has billions of views a day but as of October 2014, only 15.53% of English Wikipedia’s biographies were about women – we want to change that!
This event is an early addition to Ada Lovelace Day which, named for the Victorian computer programmer, seeks to celebrate and support women in STEAM.

No experience needed! Just bring a laptop (and charger!) and we’ll work on the rest together. We’ll provide help for beginner Wikipedians, reference materials, and refreshments.
