After her Profession as a Sister of Compassion Sister Therese Couderc was the Theatre Nurse in our hospital for many years. Her mission changed when she left with Sister Bernadette Wrack for Rome to study Theology at Regina Mundi College. On returning they both set up a library they called ‘St Paul’s’ to enable the Sisters to study theology and the different trends that were happening in the church since Vatican Council II. Sister was later appointed Secretary General and then Novice Mistress. Today Sister lives at Wainuiomata where she does Pastoral work in the Parish, including running Sacramental programmes for adults and children. Sister Couderc was presented with the Benemerenti Papal Medal on 1 November 2020 for ’60 years of service to Church and Community
