Two other members of her family also entered Religious Life, one a Mercy Sister, and the other joined the Little Company of Mary. After Final Profession sister returned to Our Lady’s Home of Compassion at Island Bay. Sister Kalausia’s first move from Island Bay was to Auckland, caring for young mothers, babies and children. Since then Sister has nursed in our Homes of Compassion in Timaru and Wanganui, caring for the sick and elderly. It was while she was in Wanganui that she left to do a Renewal Course at ‘Marymount’, Mercy Centre in Sydney. Her mission until recently has been in Fiji, where she felt at home and her talents were best used.
