The following year sister left for Wellington to enter the Sisters of Compassion. She was very popular because when travelling to Wellington from Gore to Christchurch there were people at nearly every railway station to wish her well. After making her Religious Profession sister completed her nursing training. Sister Justin remembers the advice Sister Luke, her nursing tutor gave the class “If you don’t waste any time, and you pray and work hard you will pass.” Her words proved true. Sister’s first appointment was to Silverstream, she was there for 9 years caring for handicapped babies and then as the Community Leader. Sister Justin has held many important leadership positions in our Congregation. She is wise, fun loving, and helpful. Sister is now at St Joseph’s Silverstream where she said she is waiting for God.
