This care is tangible and energizes me for my other work, often given to
administration.
Volunteers, benefactors, and coworkers have been part of my journey with the Sisters
of Compassion since 1975. I am continually surprised and inspired by the goodness of
people. The bread and meat deliveries, the willingness of those who offer professional
expertise and the legacies left by those who have gone before us.
Many of the names of funders and partners listed below I recognise, and I sincerely
thank you. To the volunteers of the Compassion Soup Kitchen, Island Bay Home of
Compassion and Compassion Housing, I thank you also for your commitment
and generosity.
A quote from 1 John 4:12 that Meri Hōhepa Suzanne Aubert wrote in her Directory
offers us encouragement.
“No one has ever seen God, but as long as we love one another God will live in us
and his love will be complete in us.”
