Sister was born in Natovi, Fiji, and entered the Sisters of Compassion on the 13 August, 1960...
Rita was born in Opunake, the third daughter of a family of six, three sisters and two brothers. Her parents were John Sydney and Bridget Hickey (nee Coyle). They were a close knit family and very much part of the Opunake community.
