Sarah Maud Pritchard was born in Tibooburra, New South Wales. Early in life due to family circumstances Sarah was cared for at St Anne’s Home, in Broken Hill, which was under the management of the Sisters of Mercy.
After her Profession in 1958 Sister Mary worked in the different Homes of Compassion before going to Loreto Hall to obtain her teacher ‘C’ Certificate.
