Personality and purpose: Suzanne Aubert as an atom of instrumentality

June 18, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Writing to a friend and helper, Suzanne Aubert, in her late eighties, described her own personality as ‘nothing else than an atom of instrumentality in the work which God has raised Himself’. Although confessing whimsically to never having had any ‘timid modesty’, she said her sole purpose, her mission, was to follow the example of Jesus in ‘doing good’ in a humble way.

What were some of the strands of her personality which were so wholeheartedly, unfailingly, dedicated to others? How did she apply her multiple talents to her life’s purpose? How did her keen intellect and intense spirituality go hand in hand with her down-to-earth practicality and unaffected friendliness? The
‘instrumentality’ of Suzanne is an ever-expanding universe of discovery.
