Kathleen McCormack was born on 16 January, 1900, at Kaitangata, South Otago. Her parents were William McCormack and Ellen McCormack (nee O’Gorman)
Island Bay’s Own ‘Flying Nun’: It started as a joke but before she knew it, Sister Cecilia, celebrating her 80 birthday, was flying down The Parade in Island Bay on the back of her neighbour’s Harley Davidson motorbike.
Bridget Ann was born at Ashhurst, Manawatu. She was the second daughter of Patrick and Mary Kerrigan who were for many years farmers in the Manawatu region.
