Peggy was born in Raglan in 1947. She was the seventh child in a family of nine.
Catherine Anne Coe was born at Featherston on 9 November, 1907. She was the daughter of George and Caroline Coe (nee Hansen). She spent her childhood years and received all her education in Wanganui.
Cecilia Margaret was born in Darfield, Canterbury. Her parents were Daniel and Johanna McLaughlin and she had three brothers and three sisters. Cecilia entered the Sisters of Compassion in 1936.
