Emma Mary Cassin was born at Taradale, Hawke's Bay, on the 13 March, 1878. Her parents were John Thomas and Jane Cassin [nee McMahon]. Emma entered the Sisters of Compassion at St. Joseph's Home in Buckle Street, on 26 January, 1903, there she began her Novitiate and was given her religious name Sister Mary Anthony...
