This issue reflects on 100 years since Meri Hōhepa’s passing, celebrating the wisdom and compassion that continue to guide our mission today. You’ll find updates on the Grotto shelter refresh at Home of Compassion, where heritage bricks from Hiruhārama are being used to create a peaceful space for reflection. We look back on moments from our Celebrate Compassion 2026 journey — including the Totara Point Mass, the Waitangi Day celebration at St Mary of the Angels, and the beautiful hikoi to Hiruhārama, where the restored convent and St Joseph’s Church were blessed and reopened.

There’s also a glimpse into the mahi of the Compassion Soup Kitchen kaimahi at CubaDupa, where Scott and Sam served chilled gazpacho alongside other community groups, sharing kai and connection with festival‑goers.

It’s a snapshot of the people, places, and stories that continue to the work of Meri Hōhepa Suzanne Aubert.
