Bridget Cecilia Flannery was the eldest daughter of John and Ellen Flannery, and was born at Timaru on 12 October, 1913. Two of her sisters also entered the Sisters of Compassion: Sister Mary Joan and Sister Mary Adrian.
Muriel Winifred Seymour was born in Nelson, on the 18 February, 1887. Her parents were Charles Alexander Seymour and Emily Seymour (nee Brunetti). Sister Damian was one of a family of twelve children, six of whom became religious, two of her brothers joined the Society of Mary, and two of her sisters became Sisters of Mercy...
Rosanne Agnes Caldwell, daughter of Lindsay Archibald Caldwell and Jeanne Marie [nee Dondeyne] was born on the 25th August, 1923 at Wellington. She was the second daughter in a family of six. Rosanne and her four sisters and one brother received their education at the Sacred Heart Convent in Island Bay.
