Directions from the south

When approaching Whanganui:

  • Follow the ‘Whanganui National Park’ signs along the right side of the river avoiding Whanganui city centre
  • Turn left at the ‘Whanganui National Park’ Pipiriki sign 14kms from the city
  • Follow this road for around one and a half hours (the last 15kms are by gravel road)
  • Ranana (London) is the settlement before Jerusalem
  • As you approach Jerusalem, you’ll see the church on the hill and the sign ‘Jerusalem/Hiruharama’
  • Take the third driveway for the convent and church on the right over the bridge
  • Our letterbox is number 5050

Directions from the north

  • Travel to Raetihi
  • Follow the road to Pipiriki for around an hour (mainly gravel road)
  • Pipiriki to Jerusalem is around 14kms
  • From this direction the old convent and church are just visible
  • Look for the sign ‘Jerusalem/Hiruharama’
